Ferrycarrig Receive OFSC Tick of Approval
Ferrycarrig has achieved OFSC Accreditation
Thursday 5 August 2021 – Following a rigorous audit of their health and safety management system, Ferrycarrig has achieved accreditation under the OFSC Australian Government Building and Construction WHS Accreditation Scheme.
The scheme represents a higher standard than Occupational Health and Safety AS 4801 accreditation, with criteria tailored specifically to the construction industry.
OFSC accredited contractors can enter into head contracts for construction work funded by the Federal Government with a value of $4 million or more. Having achieved accreditation under the scheme, Ferrycarrig is now eligible to tender and undertake these high-value, federally funded head contracts.
Ferrycarrig General Manager, Ivan O’Connor, said that accreditation provides an opportunity to strengthen Ferrycarrig’s relationship with Commonwealth Government agencies and work with them in an increased capacity. “We are looking forward to strengthening our relationship with the Australian Government and pursuing new principal contracting opportunities with them.”
Robert Mitchell, Ferrycarrig’s Senior Health and Safety Manager who led Ferrycarrig’s OFSC accreditation process, reflected on the significant achievement and praised those involved in securing the accreditation. “This is a significant achievement for Ferrycarrig. We are proud to join the ranks of Australian contractor’s accredited under the scheme. Beyond providing us with access to high-value government-funded work, the accreditation provides the fundamental benefit of best practice workplace health and safety standards.”
“OFSC accreditation is recognised within the construction industry as the pinnacle of safety standards This accreditation is the result of the development and implementation of our best practice health and safety management system that has withstood the rigours of government audit. Our health and safety team and project delivery teams should be immensely proud of what they have achieved.”
“This accreditation provides our clients and other project stakeholders with assurance of our first-class workplace health and safety practices and our ability to deliver projects to the highest workplace health and safety standards.”
