Project Overview
Ferrycarrig was engaged on multiple contracts and disciplines across the Parramatta Light Rail project to install and relocate services including High Pressure and Low Pressure Gas, High Voltage and Low Voltage electricity, communications, potable and wastewater, fire services, and private utilities.
Ferrycarrig has also completed structural and civil works including stormwater and culvert works, retaining walls, concrete protection slabs, and bulk and detailed earthworks.
Ferrycarrig commenced works on the Paramatta Light Rail in December 2019. Over the past 18 months we have completed a range of utility augmentations and diversions as part of the project. These works were divided into two main areas of the project at Westmead Hospital and Rosehill Racecourse.
At the peak of the project, there have been 17 crews working around the clock to complete a range of different works to ensure the overall project delivery for our client Downer CPB.
The key factor in the utility diversions success has been the management directly with the utility assets owners’ for electrical, gas, comms, water, sewer, ITS, and Caltex.
This effective communication and planning of works by Ferrycarrig with the asset owners allowed the ability to control the outcomes for the project’s key dates and also work in collaboration with our clients. Design clash and analysis were also a key Ferrycarrig responsibility.
This allowed the Ferrycarrig team to utilise their in-house design and surveying department to ensure that any potential clashes in services design were identified early.
Ferrycarrig’s multidisciplined workforce was able to be utilised across the project with some of the most notable works completed.
